Since 1977, General Dynamics Land Systems-Canada (formerly General Motors Diesel Division),
has been the major domestic supplier of armoured vehicles to the Canadian Military; including the Royal Canadian Armoured Corps. The first series of armoured fighting vehicles, the Armoured Vehicle, General Purpose (AVGP), was manufactured in three variants: the Grizzly (Armoured Personnel Carrier), Cougar (Fire Support) and Husky (Recovery) and served Canada well for over a quarter of a century at home and on peace keeping missions abroad..

Evolving from the AVGP, the LAV familyhas been designed and manufactured in multiple variants, such as the LAV II (USMC), LAV III and LAV 6.0, to meet the Canadian Army’s capability needs and to reflect defence industry market trends.

The Ontario Regiment RCAC Museum is an accredited Canadian Forces Museum located in Oshawa Ontario Canada. The Ontario Regiment Museum  has the largest collection of operational military vehicles in North America along with a static museum that tells the story of the Ontario Regiment from its formation in 1866 to current day.   The Museum can display over 110 operational historic military vehicles including over 40 tanks.

The Ontario Regiment Museum runs “Tank Saturdays” during the summer months where their collection of tanks, APCs, trucks, jeeps, and other military vehicles for the delight of the public.
